Founded in 2024, Blue Horizon Squadron exists to bring pilots together in a structured but relaxed environment. We focus on realistic training, teamwork, and progression, ensuring our pilots are always improving—without taking the fun out of it. Our fleet is packed with a variety of aircraft, all carrying our distinct livery, making sure we look good even when we inevitably miss the tanker.
We hold integrity, experience, loyalty, humility, humanity, equality, accountability, and self-moderation in high regard. We encourage self-moderation, meaning you’re responsible for your actions and how you carry yourself in the squadron. Bullying? Not tolerated. Ego-driven drama? Take it elsewhere. We’re here to fly, learn, and enjoy the experience.
Squadron History
We didn’t start as an elite squadron—we started as a small group of like-minded pilots looking to improve and grow together. Now, with structured training, custom missions, and a dedicated command structure, we’re expanding and refining our approach. We’re here to develop talent, build a strong team, and most importantly—have a damn good time doing it.
Training Program Overview
Our training syllabus covers everything from basic flight principles to advanced combat tactics. Whether you’re mastering formation flying, engaging enemy aircraft, or learning the fine art of not getting shot down, we’ve got a program for you.
- Basic Flight Maneuvers (BFM) – Because flying straight won’t win you a dogfight.
- Advanced Training – SEAD, DEAD, Interception, and our Ace Pilot Program.
- Multi-Crew Specialization – Optional WSO, RIO, and Co-Pilot training.
- Mission Operations – Strike, defense, and interception exercises.
Upon passing, you’ll receive a Certificate of Achievement—a fancy way of saying “You did it!”—featuring Blue Horizon Squadron’s unique branding.
Training Lead Times & Probation Periods Lead times will be updated once we finalize the training syllabus. Your progress will depend on how much time you commit and how quickly you absorb information.
- Cadet Probation Period: 3 months
- Pilot Probation Period (for more experienced recruits): 6 months
Cadets train separately from the main squadron until they’ve reached the required level.
Rank Structure
We follow a structured rank system, but don’t worry—it’s not just for show. Ranks reflect leadership, responsibility, and commitment.
- Marshall of Blue Horizon Squadron (⭐⭐⭐) – Platinum, Feather + Wreath
- Wing Commander (⭐⭐) – Gold, Feather
- Squadron Leader (⭐) – Gold, Feather
- Flight Lieutenant – Platinum, Feather
- Flying Officer – Blue, Feather
- Pilot Officer – Blue, Feather
Ranks appear on official squadron documents and certificates. If you want to climb the ranks, show dedication and skill (bribes are appreciated but not accepted).
Squadron Rules & Etiquette
We keep things simple:
- Loyalty to the Squadron – Be committed. If you’re in multiple squadrons, let us know.
- Training & Readiness – Improve your skills, stay active, and communicate if life gets in the way.
- Callsigns & Comms – Follow proper radio discipline. “Uh… I think I see something” is not a valid call.
- Flight Conduct – No reckless flying, ramming, or intentional team-killing. We’re pilots, not bumper car enthusiasts.
- Mission Briefings Matter – If you sign up, show up. Simple.
- Respect the Chain of Command – Senior officers and mission leads have the final say.
- Constructive Feedback Only – Don’t just complain—offer solutions.
- Self-Moderation & Accountability – Take responsibility for your actions. No babysitting here.
Break these? Expect consequences—ranging from a stern talking-to, all the way up to being shown the door.
Discord Community Rules
We expect maturity, respect, and common sense.
- Respect & Integrity – Treat others decently. No harassment, discrimination, or hate speech.
- Maturity & Conduct – This is a professional squadron, not a daycare.
- No Politics or Drama – We’re here for aviation, not debates.
- Zero Tolerance on Bullying – One strike and you’re out.
- Use the Right Channels – Training questions? Use training channels. Random memes? Keep it in the right place.
- Follow the Chain of Command – Issues go up the proper channels.
- No Unapproved Advertising – Ask first before promoting anything.
- Keep It Friendly & Professional – Balance banter with respect.
- Self-Moderation & Accountability – If you mess up, own it.
